EXPERIENCE OF FAITH

Jazeel Kennedy now know as Jazeel

I was once lost and now I’m found. An old Christian adage, which I aptly lived up to.

Christianity gave me the freedom to explore a generous wild life of drinking and drugging. All of this, I did from a very early age with wild abandonment and with a vigor of the rebellious. I denied my parents the freedom to exercise their parental guidance and leadership.

My friends, parties, alcohol and drugs took precedence over all my actions. My life was a constant ebb and flow of highs and lows. About three years ago I found a path, but I didn’t realize it then. My mum had taken me to work with her in Stanger. I met many inspiring Muslims and I marveled at their way of life. Their strong moral disciplines, their code of conduct and their Emaan intrigued me. The more I got to meet them the more I liked what I learned. The whisperings of Islam softly beckoned. I contemplated the change to Islam but I did not have known how. Several months ago I befriended some Muslims via mutual friends of ours. I became elated to discover that these Muslim friends had helped another find the path of Islam. I expressed my sincere desire to become a Muslim and wondered whether I would also be afforded the opportunity I have stopped wondering, I have been found and I’m on the path to Sirathul Musthaqeem [The Straight Path], with proper guidance. I now find myself at Islamic Propagation Centre International learning the Fundamentals of Islam, learning to read the Arabic text, Quran etc. I declare over and over again, La ila Ha illal la Mohamadur Rasoolalla.”

There is No GOD but Allah and Prophet Mohammad ((P.B.U.H.} is his Messenger. I have truly found my path and I pray that Allah keeps us there always, Insha’Allah.
