IPCI HOST FORMER PRIEST SHEIKH YUSUF ESTES

IPCI once again had the pleasure of hosting former Priest Sheikh Yusuf Estes on Sunday the 19th of May 2008 at the Abdul Aziz Auditorium. The function was attended by approximately 450 people. Although Yusuf Estes generally addresses non-Muslim audiences, those Muslims who attended the talk benefited from his discussion which was titled “Islam Exposed”. He had the audience enthralled in one minute and in tears in the next.

Sheikh Yusuf Estes is well traveled and has given various talks around the globe with his main focus being to speak to non-Muslims about Islam. Plans for a December lecture tour expanding the outreach, is planned soon.

OUTREACHES…. ZULU OUTREACH – DURBAN WORKSHOP

The IPCI has booked this venue for the entire of 2008 and had its 4th successful local Dawah outreach programme which saw approximately 2500 people getting the message of Islam. Brother Adam Mcanwayo (main speaker). A question and answer session was held and the programme ended with distribution of FREE literature.

The next programme will be held on Friday the 30th of May 2008. Be there and interact with the non-Muslim. Become a partner in Dawah and help us to distribute FREE LITERATURE.

IPCI Host–Ustaaz Kamal El-Mekki from (USA)–AL-Kausar institute

Approximately 250 attended the talk which was based on “How to give Shahadah in 10 minutes” and has lead hundreds into Islam. The DVD of the talk available from the IPCI.

NATIONAL OUTREACH - MAFIKENG 25-26 APRIL 2008

Pre-Jummah talk @ Mafikeng Town Mosque Pre-Khutbah Jummah Talk by Hafez Shabir Basha: “Developing Dawah techniques in handling the Missionary onslaught aimed at Muslims” Hafez Shabir Basha gave a lecture in the main Musjid. Alhumdullilah, the audience were captivated as he gave a visual display of Christian Deceit against Islam. The Jummah Mosque was full to capacity to the extent that a tent had to be erected outside. The congregation numbered approx 1000.

Follow up talk in the evening:-after Maghrib Salaah, the talk was a continuation of the Jummah programme and an attentive crowd turned out as well as requesting tools for the Dawah. The topic was “A MUSLIMS DUTY IS TO PROCLAIM THE TRUE MESSAGE”

"INTERACTIVE DAWAH TRAINING PROGRAM" by Yusuf Ismail

VENUE: SETLOPO ISLAMIC CENTRE
Attorney Yusuf Ismail delivered a three hour Dawah Training workshop at SETLOPO ISLAMIC CENTRE. The Centre is situated in a Tribal area of the former Bophutatswana Government. At 8h00 in the morning people were bussed in from other areas in Mafikeng. Also the area is very active with approx 300 to 400 Muslims families living in and around the Centre. The Centre was founded by Sheikh Mahmoed Mamdoo who had initially approached the Mafikeng Relief Fund to start the Centre some ten years ago.The entire community of Mafikeng participated and attended the Workshop where novel techniques were imparted to the participants by Yusuf.

Main Talk : TOPIC: THE QUEST FOR THE HISTORICAL JESUS – A Man, a Myth or a God
Venue: BROADCAST CENTRE – S.A.B.C. Studio (Albert Moroka Drive – MMABATHO) The controversial and hard-hitting main lecture by Yusuf Ismail was held at the SABC studio buildings hall and was well attended by approx. 500 people. In a power point presentation on a cinema-type screen, the edifice of Christianity was placed on a scale and subjected to deconstructive analysis. The original research of Albert Schweitzer was introduced to the audience. Two buses were hired to bring in Muslims from other areas as well. There were positive responses from

Christians in the audience. Members of the North West University MSA, MAFIKENG CAMPUS have sent an official letter to the IPCI team to visit the Mafikeng Campus to tackle the negative anti-Islamic propaganda on future visits.

NATIONAL OUTREACH – BOTSWANA

BOTSWANA TOUR

The Dawah Training program took place at JAMIA MUSJID, Gaborone. Host Brother Mukhtar Abubakar, Gaborone Dawah Committee.

The three hour Dawah Training Workshop was conducted by Attorney Yusuf Ismail and in attendance approximately 30 Dawah Workers from Botswana and Molopolole. The Dawah workshop was successful and the committee has extended another invitation to the IPCI team to conduct further workshops. Attendees were enlightened to move away from the conventional understanding of Islam and understand the faith in a global perspective

Lectures were also delivered at the Jamia Musjid by Hafez Sayed Shabir Basha, and Attorney Yusuf Ismail. The lectures were well attended. .After the lectures, the audience demanded copies of the material and tools and methods on how to tackle the onslaught and become effective DAEE’s. Alhumdullilah Sister Saidoo and four other Sisters got permission from the Imam of the Jamia Musjid to travel to South Africa for two months and will be attending the next IPCI Comparative Religion course, 3rd term.

Mosque Tours / Group Tours / School Tours

180 people were taken on a free guided tour to the Grey Street Masjd. These included people from different countries from around the world like, Russia, Japan, USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Italy, France.

The following schools were taken on FREE GUIDED TOUR:

  • Orissa Primary School 130 learners
  • Kwa-Mashu School – 90 Learners
  • Barberton Secondary School – 40 learners

Reversions

23 people embraced Islam at the Centre during this period. Once they embrace Islam at the Centre, they join the Introduction to Islam classes.

IPCI Graduation of 2nd Term Learners

Learners from the Comparative Religion, Introduction to Islam and Journalism classes graduated on Friday the 23rd May 2008.
